Should you need to cancel your reservation, you must do so in writing; by e-mail, or by fax. Deposits are refundable up to 90 days prior to the departure date, subject to a $100.00 CDN administration fee. Deposits are non refundable after 90 days.

We may cancel departures if forced to do so by circumstances such as weather (snow conditions, temperatures, river levels, forest fires etc.) or what is commonly referred to as force majeure. In these instances we will refund all passengers in full if cancellation takes place more than 90 days prior to tour departure date. If cancellation occurs within the 90 day period we will offer to postpone your trip to another departure within 12 months of the original tour start date. We will not be responsible for costs associated with airline change fees or for any compensation.

If we cancel your tour due to insufficient enrolment, we will endeavor to find an alternate tour for you. If this is not acceptable, all monies paid will be refunded in full and will constitute full settlement. We will not be responsible for any expenses that have incurred as a result of your booking. We strongly recommend that all travelers purchase trip cancellation insurance as this may provide coverage under such circumstances.

Trip Cancellation/Medical/Evacuation Insurance
(Strongly Recommended)

If you require evacuation for any reason, the expense incurred through the evacuation will be borne by the participant(s) evacuated. For this reason, we strongly recommend that you purchase trip cancellation/medical insurance. Please check your Health Plan to ensure that additional coverage is purchased if so required.

Itinerary Changes

We will take every measure to ensure the accuracy of the itineraries and promotional literature. However circumstances beyond our control may necessitate changes to tour content and changes in tour dates. We reserve the right to change itineraries if we feel it will enhance your experience or are forced to do so by circumstances beyond our control (e.g. snow conditions, temperature, river levels, forest fires etc.)

If expenses for unexpected logistical arrangements not covered in the printed itinerary are incurred, the cost will be evenly divided among the participants.

Additional Fees & Charges

Charges not included in the tour price are: personal clothing and effects, personal alcoholic beverages, transportation to and from Whitehorse, transportation from Dawson City, airline and airport fees, GST (Goods & Service Tax). Additional costs due to changes beyond our control due to weather, flight cancellation or delays. Insurance coverage is the responsibility of each individual participant.

Customer Service & Client Feed Back

You will receive a Tour Questionnaire at the conclusion of your trip. We encourage you to complete this questionnaire to provide us with your feedback on the tour, logistics, lodging and staff.

Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risk

Due to the prevailing insurance situation and legal atmosphere in Canada, we must insist that each participant be familiar with and agree to the following document. This document is similar in content to Waivers used throughout the adventure tourism industry. If you have any questions regarding any of the contents, please contact us prior to signing the document. The form must be completed and submitted with your final payment. No one may participate in a Great River Journey without submitting this document.
