Jerry Alfred
Music

Jerry Alfred is, in the tradition of the Northern Tutchone aboriginal tribe in the Yukon, the keeper of songs, as was his father before him. Raised for the first years of his life in the traditional way, only speaking his native language, he took to music early in life. He went on to write and record songs of the legends of his people, in his native language, winning a Juno award, and performing at festivals and events in North America and Europe. After a few years of touring Jerry has kept busy mostly in the Yukon and continues writing new songs and performing at special events, festivals and at First Nation gatherings.
